“Put Out the Fire” is a clarion call, a protest song asking for unity over division and for building rather than tearing down the present. It pleads that the divisive nature of the times be extinguished to ensure a more perfect union for all in the future. Rebuilding for tomorrow requires action, humility, and courage today.
